Computer Nformation Systems

Since the introduction of personal computers by Tandy Corporation through Radio Shack, ConsulAgr has been in the computer age.  The evolution of computer technology and its application to agriculture and business has been phenomenal by any measure.  ConsulAgr’s role as a provider of computer related services to farm business has evolved through many experiences and reality checks over several years.

The principles we maintain:

  1. We cannot be on the leading edge all the time.  Technology changes too fast and it may be going in the wrong direction.
  2. Computers and computer technology can do almost any thing.  We may not really want it to, or it really may not be worth it.
  3. Many times we can do it better and faster without the aid of a computer.  If we only do something once or a few times, do it without a computer.  Computers are best in handling repetitive tasks or in processing large amounts of data.
  4. Beware of the gap between what is promised that a computer can do and the reality of what can be done by ordinary folks on a routine basis.

With the forgoing ConsulAgr provides services in the computer-related area and computer information systems that we have found to be relevant, time tested, reliable, and supported by solid agriculturally oriented organizations.  We avoid untested programs, specialized applications, and limited editions of software.  We avoid hardware from unestablished vendors and from dealers without a responsible history.

ConsulAgr sells and supports the following lines of agricultural software:
